Meet Delany
Delany Davis is a dedicated Data Privacy Attorney with a strong educational background and diverse work experience in the legal field. She earned her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law in May 2023. During her time at law school, Delany showcased her commitment to excellence by participating as a Moot Court Board Competitor and earning a Law and Technology Certificate. She also received prestigious scholarships, including the 2022 Intel Racial Equity and Justice Scholarship and the 2021 Fred Anderson Toyota Scholarship, highlighting her dedication to justice and innovation. Delany further demonstrated her passion for her alma mater as an Admissions Ambassador.
Delany's professional journey includes valuable experiences in the legal field. As a Privacy Intern at Dana G. Jones Healthcare Associates from August 2022 to June 2023, she contributed significantly by developing a system for managing requests, incidents, and breach management reporting for the firm's extensive client base. Delany also played a pivotal role in contract review, ensuring compliance with firm policies and legal requirements. Her expertise extended to supporting privacy incidents and personal data breach response activities, conducting privacy audits and privacy impact assessments, and showcasing her commitment to data protection and HIPAA-HiTECH compliance.
During her tenure as a Legal Intern at Integral Ad Science in New York from June 2022 to December 2022, Delany's legal acumen shone as she drafted, reviewed, and interpreted various contracts. Her work extended to collaborating with the compliance team to develop privacy training initiatives and conducting privacy impact assessments. She also created a Data Privacy Matrix to guide the compliance team in navigating global privacy laws and assessing their impact on clients and consumers.
Delany's commitment to the legal field is further exemplified by her role as a Research and Reference Assistant at the NCCU School of Law Library from July 2021 to May 2023. Her responsibilities included conducting extensive legal and policy research using various sources and providing critical support to faculty members in their scholarly endeavors. She also actively contributed to the creation of educational content to enhance the library's online presence.
